Sparkle

Head to Toe: Dress, F21 (gift); Leggings, American Eagle; Boots, Target; Sweater, Gift; Headband, F21; Bracelent, Tiffany's (gift).

Today I got dressed for a dinner out with my girlfriends later. As it's approaching New Year's, I thought a little sparkle would be appropriate, hence the sequin dress and headband. And of course I'm rocking my current obsession, BOWS!...and long hair...

Truly Tribal

Head to toe: Top, Gift; Jeans, Delia's; Boots, Target; Earrings and bracelet, Gift.

I'm imagining warmer climates with this flowy top, paired with bright eye shadow. Surprisingly, this has been a VERY mild winter thus far (knock on wood), so I was eager to wear this light top for a day of shopping and work. It was perfect for a warm mall, but not quite suited for outdoor blog photos. But there's nothing like a little cobalt blue to brighten up a dreary day!

The New Navajo

Head to Toe: Long sleeve tee, Old Navy; Jeans, Delias; Sweater, Gift; Moccasins, Gift; Earrings and bracelet, Gift.

Since I'm the type of person who loves to use gifts right away, I'm rocking lots of new Christmas duds in these photos. In this outfit, the bright sweater paired with some fun accessories lit up a dreary day.

A Christmas Bow

My current obsession is hair bows!! They're adorable and festive for a cute winter 'do. I wore a hair bow on Christmas and I'm already thinking about how to remix it for New Year's Eve. I had a lot of inspiration from Pinterest; here's some of my favorites:

I learned how to do the bow I wore from this youtube tutorial, found here.

Hope everyone had an amazing holiday!

Reindeer

Head to Toe: Thermal (underneath), Thrifted; Jacket, Old Navy; Jeggings, Old Navy; Boots, Hunter; Scarf, Target (gift).

Apologies that the color is a little off in these photos. It was a dark, rainy, day so I had to lighten them digitally. I think mother nature is a bit confused this year...It snowed on Halloween and rained the week of Christmas. But I'm still dreaming of a white Christmas, and it looks like it still might be in the cards. And luckily, there was a silver lining to rain this week: My Hunter boots matched perfectly with my reindeer scarf.

Tonight I'm exchanging gifts with my family since we won't all be together this year. I'm excited to spend some time with them and get into the holiday spirit. The way I see it, the more Christmas, the better!

Knits and Layers

Head to Toe: Flannel, Thrifted; Sweater, Thrifted; Jeans, Delia's; Leg warmers, Unknown; Boots, Target; Earrings, H&M; Bag, Vendor.

Yesterday I did a little Christmas shopping and had lunch with my dad. Lunch was absolutely delicious, and we had a great afternoon.  I hate fooling with a coat in and out of stores, so I layered this chunky sweater over my cozy flannel. I'm not sure if this outfit works, or is a bit thrown together...but I guess that's okay for an easy-going day?

Plain and Fancy

Head to Toe: Tank, Gap; Sweater, Banana Republic via Consignment shop; Jeans, Express (Hand-me-down); Heels, Target; Headband, Sally's; Bag, Vendor; Coat, American Eagle (Gift).

This cardigan was an amazing steal, and in perfect time for holiday outfits. It's perfect for a casual work look or can be dressed up for a night out.

I hope every other college student is taking the huge sigh that I am right now with finals being over. We made it! Happy holidays!

A quick holiday collage, from top: A comfy thermal and scarf outfit, festive emerald nails (Rimmel), sparkly stripes for a night out, skinnies and boots.

'Tis the Season

Head to Toe: Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Jeans, Delia's; Boots, Target; Scarf, Aero Outlet; Hat, Gap Outlet; Earrings, Charlotte Russe; Coat, Old Navy; Watch, Target.

I'm so excited Mackenzie took these photos for me. I was at his house, so I got to pose in front of the pretty decorations his parents put up (designer cred!). Temps have dropped, but I was happy to sport my bright red pea-coat. The outfit is pretty basic, and I threw on a fair isle scarf for a festive touch. I thought I would be bummed when the cooler weather came in, but it really put me in the holiday spirit.

Channeling Vintage

Head to Toe: Sweater, Gap (gift); Belt, Mom's; Watch, Target; Skinnies, TJ Maxx; Oxfords, F21.

It was finally cold enough this week to wear this chunky sweater. Mixed with green jeans and brown accessories, it was a perfect winter neutral outfit. There's a mix of feminine and menswear pieces, and the vintage vibe makes me feel like I should be working at a newspaper in the 30's. Now, back to my typewriter!

Something Borrowed

Head to Toe: Denim button down, Gap Outlet; Skirt, Forever 21; Leggings, American Eagle (gift); Boots, Target; Necklace, Gift; Bag; Gift.

Apologies for the dark photos; it was rainy out, so it was pretty bleak by the time I got to taking these. I saw this outfit on Pinterest (below), originally from Running on Happiness, and thought, "I have a denim shirt and yellow skirt!" So I added a statement necklace and some necessary winter touches (boots instead of flats and some leggings). Thanks for the inspiration!

Here's the original look.
