Head to Toe: Button down, Thrifted; Jeans, LOFT; Flats, American Eagle; Belt, LOFT (Gift); Bag, Steve Madden via TJ Maxx (Gift); Earrings and bracelet, Tiffany's (Gift).
This button-down is a consignment shop steal, and I love how easily it dresses up a plain pair of jeans.
Needless to say, I am so excited it's Friday. I'm looking forward to an easy weekend of time with friends, reading The Hunger Games (obsession developing), and trying on bridesmaids dresses for my bestie's wedding! Happy weekend!

Head to Toe: Blouse, Thrifted (Mom's); Blazer, H&M (Gift); Skirt, J. Crew; Heels, Vince Camuto (Gift); Necklace, American Eagle (Gift); Bag, Steve Madden via TJ Maxx (Gift).
I styled this outfit for an event last week on a record-warm spring day. I was happy to be wearing a splash of color in a sea of black cocktail dresses. The only negative--I am extremely spill prone and the blouse and skirt are both silk. Thankfully, I made it through the night without any major damages.
|Nice face...Thanks to my coworker Alexis for taking these photos.|

Yes, here I go with my hot pink pants again. But a girl can't help but celebrate early spring weather with fuchsia jeans. Seems I'll be toning it down this week, though, as CT returns to a normal March climate.
And all this warmth has me thinking about bikini weather early, of course reminding of the fact that my gym shoes are collecting dust, but also making me crave ink. I have been wanting a tattoo of the Tolkien quote, "All who wander are not lost" for a while, and with April approaching I'm thinking it's time for an appointment. Do you have tattoos? Does Spring give you the itch for one?

Head to Toe: Sweater, Old Navy; Scarf, American Eagle (Gift); Jeans, Loft; Belt, H&M; Sneakers, Old Navy; Bracelet, Tiffany's (Gift); iPhone Case, Gap; Nail polish, American Eagle Concrete Jungle.
Why not wear pink on yellow stripes and floral sneakers when you're 22? I'm tapping into my inner child and loving it, plus these 60-70 degree days have me feeling as glee as a school girl.
On another note, I'm always a little behind on the book trends. I read The Help just in time for the DVD release, read the Twilight Saga after I'd seen the first movie, and have recently finished Water for Elephants and am dying to rent the movie. Now, I HAVE to read The Hunger Games before viewing the first movie (which looks awesome). I've heard they're a breeze, so after ordering the set for my kindle, I'm going to try to read the first book this week so I can see the movie next weekend, and miss all of that premiere drama anyway. Have you read them? Do they live up to the hype?

Head to Toe: Tank, American Eagle; Tunic, Anthropologie (Gift); Leggings and Cardi, American Eagle (Gift); Flats, American Eagle.
There's nothing like a tunic and leggings for a day when you're craving yoga pants. This funky tunic from Anthropologie was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend's mom, and I've stuck out a long winter to wear it. I also brought all of my summer dresses and shorts from storage, and it feels like I've inherited a whole new closet...not that that will stop me from shopping for more...

Head to Toe: Blazer, Strawberry New York; Blouse, Gap; Skirt, Gap; Tights, Marshall's; Boots, Payless (Mom's).
My dressier clothes tend to be safe neutrals like black and grey. But since Spring has sprung (official first day yesterday), I hate to be in dark tones. So I went with my staples and threw on a floral blazer to spring it up for an event last week. I have another dressy evening tonight, but thanks to the warm weather I'm rocking bare legs and light fabrics.
My week in Instagram: A coffee for a walk in NYC on Sunday, Festive for St. Patty's, Kenzie and I at the parade last week, Grand Central after a long night of event-ing.

Head to Toe: Sweater, Express (Gift); Tank, hand-me-down; Skirt, Marshall's; Moccasins, Minnetonkas (Gift); Necklace, American Eagle (Gift).
In honor of St. Patty's day, and the beautiful spring weather, I was rocking a little green this week. I mixed it with this pretty lace skirt. It's funny, around December this mini screamed holiday party to me, but with a loose spring top and some moccasins, its laid back March.
I will be braving the big city tomorrow in honor the Irish (which I am not), and squeezing in with the other throngs of tourists doing the same. Wish me luck and happy St. Patrick's Day!

Head to Toe: Sweater, Gift; Skinnies, Strawberry New York; Sandals, Marshall's; Earrings and Bracelet, Francesca's Collections (Gift).
These skinnies look very pink in these photos, but they're really more of a peachy coral, one of my favorite colors this Spring. I even let my un-pedicured toes poke out with my best platforms. I love the tapered leg and heel combo; makes a 5'2" gal like me feel sky high.

Head to Toe: Blazer, Thrifted; Blouse, Gap; Jeans, Delia's; Heels, Target.
Love her or hate her, there's no arguing that Kim K has had a huge impact on the fashion/style world. So, searching for some inspiration last week, I took a page from Kim's book. I matched my pink blazer with a similar gray top, and threw my hair in her signature high ponytail. Thanks, doll!

Head to Toe: Top, Hollister; Skirt, Gap; Tights, Loft; Flats, Gap; Necklace, American Eagle (Gift); Bracelet and earrings, Tiffany's (Gift); Polish, American Eagle Mint Green With Envy.
Thank goodness for the weekend! This beautiful Thursday made the tail end of the week much more cheerful. I got a smoothie for lunch with one of my coworkers and we even took a drive through the beach. It was a mini-escape. A coral skirt and mint nails completed the picture.

Head to Toe: Button down, Thrifted; Cardigan, American Eagle (Gift); Skirt, Forever 21; Boots, Target; Shades, Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gift).
Leaving the house Wednesday, my dad commented that yellow must be my color of the week...and I guess he was right. Who can resist the sunny hue when it's so springlike?
Also on this hump day, I had the itch to try the blogger-popular top knot. I first attempted the sock bun, but my hair has too many layers, so it was a bust. My second attempt was a normal bun, but if I pulled my ponytail too high I barely had enough hair to twist. So my bun is a bit more librarian than fashionista, but it was worth a try...
