Rain Date

Head to Toe: Dress, Francesca's Collections; Sweater and leggings, American Eagle (Gift); Belt, Loft (Gift); Boots, Hunter.

To everyone's surprise Friday, we woke up to snow on the ground. It was misty and on-and-off rain the rest of the day, melting the snow by mid-morning. It was the perfect occasion for my Hunters--which can double as rain and snow boots. I wanted to be slightly on the more formal side, and I love how they can look just as good with a dress or skirt as with ripped jeans. I'm already thinking about investing in another pair. Ridiculously loud hot pink or classic yellow?

Peace, Love and Lace

Head to Toe: Tank, Hollister; Top, Hollister; Skinnies, Loft; Moccasins, Minnetonka (Gift); Bag, Bandolino; Earrings and bracelet, Francesca's Collections (Gift).

I'm feeling a little bit like a flower-child in this outfit with the loose lace, moccasins, braid in my hair and boho jewelry. But I love how together they feel laid back and spring-like; and with dark, clean jeans the look is pulled together for work.  Perfect for how warm it was! It seems we are already moving into that lion/lamb hybrid that is New England March, but it's been a mild winter so far and the days are only getting longer.

Pattern Play

Head to Toe: Tank top, American Eagle (Gift); Sweater, Thrifted; Skirt, Forever 21; Tights, Loft; Boots, Target; Necklace, American Eagle (Gift).

These tights are actually a really fun floral pattern (though it didn't show in the photos), and I liked how they played off of the tribal patterned tank top. I'm really lucky to work in an environment with a relaxed dress code, so I can be really creative with my outfits. So patterned tights and fun necklaces it is!

Copycat

Head to Toe: Top, Gap; Blazer, H&M (Gift); Skinnies, Old Navy; Flats, Gap.

I really love creative outfits with few ingredients. When I saw Denise from All Things New wearing this outfit, I knew I could easily replicate it. Plus, I've been seeing pink skinnies all over for spring. And it's really starting to feel springlike! Here's to hoping New England winter doesn't come back with a vengeance in March.

Hunter Green

Head to Toe: Sweater, Loft (Gift); Jeans, TJ Maxx; Boots, Hunter; Hat, Gap; Trench, Banana Republic (Gift); Earrings, Gift.

What's better for a rainy-day outfit than classic hunters and a trench? I went monochromatic by pairing the boots with green jeans. It's feeling more and more springlike by the day, but CT seasons are never predictable. Fingers crossed for an early Spring!

Have a great weekend!

Light Bright

Head to Toe: Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Button down, Loft (Hand-me-down); Heels, Target; Belt, H&M; Jeans, Thrifted.

If you haven't noticed, my latest obsession is bright, bright, bright. Mackenzie's mom picked out this sweater for me for Valentine's day, and it turned out to be the perfect ingredient to liven up a tired Wednesday. Paired with a white button-down and crisp jeans, it was work-appropriate. I'd switch the flares and heels for skinnies and boots, and wah-lah, ready for a Sunday shopping trip.

Cupid Shuffle

Head to Toe: Shirt, Hand-me-down; Sweater, Guess (Gift); Scarf, H&M (Gift); Skirt, H&M; Tights, Marshall's; Heels, Target

I've always been super festive about holidays, so this polka-hearts skirt was a no-brainer. Commercial or not,  I can't help but love a holiday that emphasizes acknowledging the people you love and eating chocolate. So, yup, I'm wearing hearts...and I had a wonderful evening with my sweetie. Check and check.

Above: I've been dying for a classic trench for a while now, so Mackenzie got me this timeless Banana Republic trench for Valentine's Day. He knows me too well...

Backpack, backpack

Head to Toe: Dress, Marshall's; Sweater, Thrifted; Leggings, American Eagle (Gift); Belt, H&M; Scarf, H&M (Gift); Boots, Target; Backpack, Aldo.

I take the train to work most days, and I always found myself whining about schlepping a heavy tote. As I was walking through the mall last weekend, this adorable backpack caught my eye in Aldo's window display. When I went in to inquire about price, the salespeople gushed about how much they loved it and how quickly it was flying off the shelf. I was sold. The best clothes and accessories are always the things that are equally as fashionable as they are functional.

Pink Lady

Head to Toe: Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Jeans, Old Navy; Flats, Gap Outlet; Scarf, Gift; Watch, Guess (Gift).

I've been super into colored skinnies lately, and when better than February to choose hot pink? I love to be festive, so I've had a soft spot for every shade of red and pink lately. But paired with clean neutrals, it didn't feel like overkill. And don't worry, I'm not asking Cupid for that infomercial life-size teddy bear.

Neon Friday

Head to Toe: Sweater, Old Navy; Watch, Guess (Gift); Jeans, Delia's; Flats, American Eagle; Bag, Bandolino, Strawberry NYC; Headband, Sephora; Jacket, American Eagle (Gift).

One of my favorite Spring trends is definitely neon. Winter neutrals are nice and all, but nothing says TGIF like a bright yellow sweater.

Color Pop

Head to Toe: Turtleneck, H&M; Skirt, American Eagle; Tights, Old Navy; Booties, Target; Headband, Sally's; Bag, Steve Madden via TJ Maxx (Gift).

Who says you can't wear fuchsia tights when you're all grown up? The pop of brightness was just what the doctor ordered to get through a hectic Thursday. Swap the turtleneck for a dressy tank and blazer, and you have a perfect look for a night out.

#thatawkwardmoment

Head to Toe: Tank, Old Navy; Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Skirt, Forever 21; Leggings, American Eagle (Gift); Boots, Hunter; Necklace, American Eagle (Gift); Bag, Bandolino, Strawberry NYC.

Yup, I'm hash-tagging it. It's #thatawkwardmoment when you wear rain boots because the forecast says rain, and then it turns out to be a freakishly beautiful, 60 degree day. But I have to admit, I loved how these boots picked up on the green stripe in my skirt, so I didn't really mind.
