Head to Toe: Button down, Loft (Hand-me-down); Vest, TJ Maxx; Jeans, Loft; Flats, Payless, Bracelets, H&M.
I was enjoying some sun Wednesday, reading a book before taking my outfit photos, and surprise! Rain shower. I snapped a few pics, hoping to beat the rain, so those are the funny streaks in the shots. Oh, well. Though I was loving the sunshine last week, there's no argument New England could use a good soaking. As long as it's sunny for the weekend!

I was determined to start the week on a fashionable foot this week, despite the dismal weather. I paired a sturdy shift with comfy leggings, and added my rain necessities to keep my dry on my walk to and from the train...Plus, a high bun to keep it easy.
Happy Hump Day!

Head to Toe: Top, Old Navy; Skirt, Gap; Sandals, Gap; Bracelet and earrings, Francesca's Collections (Gift); Nails, OPI Strawberry Margarita.
Though fleeting, us New Englanders enjoyed a mini heat wave this week. Today was back to a standard 65, but it was nice to have a little taste of summer (even if it is a tease). I paired an oldie-but-goodie South American style top with a skirt in my favorite spring color, coral, and orange sandals. I enlisted the help of my dad in taking these photos during the prime lighting hour, at about 6:30. I love how looking at them now they feel like a warm summer evening in the subtle glow.

Head to Toe: Top, Marshall's; Shorts, Forever 21; Necklace, Charlotte Russe; Sandals, Charlotte Russe.
I bought these shorts when Spring clothes first hit the stores, and have been waiting for a pretty day to wear them since. With temps hitting a record 85 yesterday, I thought there would be no better opportunity. Paired with a loose top (with more lace) and a high bun, I was ready for the heat.

Head to Toe: Tank and Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Pants, Strawberry New York; Shades, Charlotte Russe; Necklace, American Eagle (Gift); Moccasins, Minnetonkas (Gift); Nails, Essie Lilacism.
I feel like this outfit has a laid-back California style to it--perfect for a pretty Friday. My do-nothing weekend was wonderful, and not so full of nothing after all. Today was a perfect 72 degrees, so I took my pup for a walk on the beach, had some fro-yo with my honey, and even got a manicure with one of my besties. Ah, the life.

Head to Toe: Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Skirt, H&M; Boots, Target; Leg warmers, Gift.
This skirt was an impulse buy around Valentine's day so I was glad to be able to wear it again. I've been so obsessed with Spring brights, it's nice to play with neutrals for a day.
I've realized that every several weekends, I need a do-nothing weekend to recoup. Since my last two were busy, I'm enjoying some well needed no-obligation down time. Today I went tag sale-ing and car browsing, and caught up on some magazines. The jury's still out on tomorrow.

Head to Toe: Blouse, Mom's; Sweater, American Eagle (Gift); Jeans, Loft; Flats, American Eagle; Belt, H&M; Earrings, H&M.
I am having serious shopping withdraws. Seriously, it's been several weeks since I've bought a thing, and already I feel like my closet is shrinking. And when you feel like your closet is shrinking you pile on layers of neon to shake things up. And when you wear neon on neon people are afraid to talk to you. And when people are afraid to talk to you...Okay, I'm done being the Direct TV Commercial. But maybe some light thrifting this weekend will hold me over for a while so I can keep saving and keep my closet happy.
Speaking of the weekend, happy Friday everyone!

Head to Toe: Top, made by my mom!; Blazer, H&M (Gift); Jeans, Loft; Heels, Vince Camuto; Necklace, American Eagle (Gift).
Don't you just love finding an oldie but goodie piece you forgot about? It feels like a new purchase. I had one of those moments Monday, as I was digging through my closet to find an outfit. My mom and I got on a sewing kick years ago (her skills are much better than mine). She let me pick out the fabric and made this blouse. I was really into 50's style at the time and this pattern reminded me of that era. 6+ years later, still a goodie. Thanks Mom!
