Trimmings

Head to Toe: Sweater, Gap (Gift); Scarf and Necklace, American Eagle (Gift); Jeans, Delia's; Boots, Frye.

My apologies for the blurriness..It's been a gray couple of days here in CT. Fortunately, the focus of this look was the accessories. Start with a neutral backdrop, and pile 'em on sister!

If you're wondering where my usual backgrounds have gone, I got a new job and will no longer be snapping my photos on the boardwalk. I'm still in search of a perfect replacement (of scenery I mean). Other than that, I'm off to a great start and feeling awesome about 2013!

Cold Front

Head to Toe: Flannel, Thrifted; Chambray shirt, Gap; Sweater, Loft (Gift); Jeans, Thrifted; Boots, Frye; Tights and Socks, Urban Outfitters; Bag and hat, American Eagle (Gift).

We've been hit with a serious cold spell this week with temps in the 10's (and lower at night). My goal with this outfit? Pile on as many layers as possible without looking like a hobo. I layered tights underneath my ripped jeans with knee-socks on top and three layers on my upper half.

It's been an eventful week. Monday was my 23rd birthday! It's strange, I know I'm still young, but somehow this year I'm feeling particularly older. Anyone else get that feeling in your early twenties?

Also, I got a juicer for my birthday and made my first attempt at "juicing" today. I used apples, mango, a peach, and kale. It was really delicious, though I think I may need to use juicier veggies (maybe carrots?) because it didn't seem like much squeezed out the kale. Do you juice? If so, I'd love to hear your best tips/concoctions.

Red All Over

Head to Toe: Sweater, Thrifted; Chambray top, Gap; Jeans, Thrifted; Loafers, Steve Madden via Marshall's; Bag, American Eagle (Gift).

Red is not normally one of my colors, but there's definitely something about it when done right. And for some reason, I feel like a million bucks wearing scarlet lipstick. I felt so great in this outfit that I'm inspired to start piling on the red. What's your favorite way to wear it?

And as always, happy Friday!

Glitter On

Head to Toe: Top, Loft (Gift); Cords, Marshall's; Boots, Hunter; Belt, Loft (Gift)

Just because the holidays are over, it doesn't mean you have to retire all of your sparkles. I'll be sporting mine til' this lion comes out like a lamb. Plus, nothing cheers the rainy day blues like sequins and fuchsia lipstick.

Winterize

Head to Toe: Dress, Hollister; Socks, Urban Outfitters; Boots, Frye; Hat and Scarf, American Eagle (Gift); Cardigan and bag, American Eagle (Gift).

This dress, boots and socks made one of my favorite ensembles during my San Diego trip. I New England winterized it by adding tights and piling on a hat and scarf.

It’s a warm(er), balmy day here, and I am starting to feel the hope of spring. Through I know this heat spell is just a fluke, the days are also staying lighter longer. Not too long until the groundhog makes his call.

Happy Monday!

Cheetah Collar

Head to Toe: Collar, H&M; Sweater, Gap (Gift); Pants, Gap via Consignment Shop; Clogs, Target.

Happy almost Friday! After two three-day weeks in a row, it's definitely strange getting back into the flow of a regular work week. But time off has left me doing a lot more lazing than I am typically used to. My goals for the weekend are to do some reading and cooking, and to take my pup on a good walk...And possibly even hit the slopes for a day?...Maybe I'm being too ambitious for a weekend that is actually only two days. What are your plans?

Winter Fun

Head to Toe: Top, Mind Code; Jeggings, Old Navy; Boots, Frye; Scarf, H&M; Bag, American Eagle (Gift); Necklace, Gift.

I wore this causal outfit to work on Friday and love the piled-on, traveled look.

This weekend flew by, but don't they always? I had a great day today ice skating with a friend. I've always wanted to go but just never did (until now), and we had so much fun! It's a good workout, too; I am already feeling like I will be sore tomorrow. Now I'm dying to do more cute winter activities...Skating at Rockefeller Center? A ski weekend in Vermont?  Good new is it's only January.

Cold

Head to Toe: Skirt, BCBG (Gift); Vest, Kensie (Gift); Shoes, Target.

Sporting another one of my Christmas outfits here (Thanks Ida!). I paired the colorful separates with black to keep things from getting to complicated.

Can we talk about the plights of blogging in the winter? It is getting more and more torturous to take my coat off to snap my photos. Last year, I was spoiled with a very mild winter, but this season is feeling arctic in New England. Any tips on getting good photos without freezing my butt off?

Winter Wonderland

Clockwise from top left: Arm party, New Year's with my love, OPI's Excuse Moi, a SoCal souvenir

Head to Toe: Jumper, Marshall's; Hat, American Eagle (Gift); Boots, North Face (Gift).

Happy New Year! It was so nice to have a little break for a long, four-day weekend, especially after the whirlwind weeks that were our trip to California and Christmas. I wore this colorful jumper, beanie and snow boots for a stormy Saturday. I have to admit, it's nice to finally have some snow on the ground. I had a fun New Year's Eve with friends last night and am feeling great about 2013. My number one resolution: Don't sweat the small shit.
