Happy New Year my fashionistas! Since I've been absent for a few weeks, I figured I'd give you a glimpse of life lately via my Instagram. I had a great visit with extended family for Christmas and a blast ringing in the New Year with friends. Though January may just be another month, I can't deny that "clean slate" feeling it brings. This past year presented me with many triumphs: I bought a car, got a new job and moved out on my own. It also brought its fair share of challenges (i.e. bills) and disappointments, but overall was a year of learning and growth that has brought me to an excellent place. In a few weeks, I'll turn 25, which for some reason feels like a landmark. And even though my life doesn't look exactly how I thought it would at this age, I'm pretty sure 16-year-old Annie would think I'm pretty damn cool.
The thing about having a blog is that there's a tangible—public—record of the goals/aspirations you set for yourself. I looked back to last year's New Year's post and reread my resolutions. I wanted to stop sweating the small stuff (I still do) and to simplify (didn't happen). But I also resolved to try and be a more attentive person, a better listener. That—friends, you can call me out on this if it isn't true—I think I did achieve. This year, I'm doing something I don't normally do and writing some actual, measurable resolutions. Okay, here goes:
–Reach 1,000 blog followers
–Put something from every paycheck into savings
–Do something active (almost) every day
–Send notes snail mail
There they are, set in the cloud (which I think is more permanent than stone these days?). Wishing you a happy and healthy 2015. Thanks for supporting my small slice of the internet.
