Thrifted Dior and a Basic T for Summer

Head to Toe: T-shirt, H&M // Jeans, Old Navy // Sandals, Dr. Scholl's (now on sale!) // Scarf, thrifted

Happy Monday, fashionistas! I hope you enjoyed this gorgeous weekend. Sean and I kept things low-key, but we did a lot of wandering and exploring in our neighborhood. I did some digging in my favorite thrift spot, Unique Boutique, and found this pink scarf for $4 in a big bin. I snapped it up for the silky material and pretty blush color, and then realized it was Dior! I'm adding this to my top 10 all-time best thrift scores for sure. I also nabbed a Banana Republic dress with the tags on for $13 and some pretty cute J Crew pants, so it was a successful haul. What's your best thrift find?

DIY Pom Poms for Summer's Straw Bag

Head to Toe: Blouse, handmade by mom // Shorts, Forever 21 (old) // Shoes, Pikolinos // Bag, thrifted

Hooray for Friday! Today was super muggy, so I decided to pair some loose shorts with this adorable top my mom made. I also grabbed my trusty straw bag, now adorned with these fun pom poms! I bought a pom pom maker on a whim last week (less than $10 on Amazon), and I'm not quite sure how I got through life so far without one! I made these cute adornments, and I'm already planning on decorations I can make for my home office, holidays, entertaining...I'm crossing my fingers the weekend forecast changes from the washout predicted, but if it doesn't, you know how I'll be spending my time!

The New Americana

Head to Toe: T-shirt, H&M // Skirt, AG Jeans // Sandals, Dr. Scholl's // Clutch, Cole Haan

Between Memorial Day and Fourth of July, summer always feels like the time to rep the good ol' USA. This preppy outfit is as American as apple pie, and I'm kind of loving it. Plus, it was nice and breezy for a super steamy afternoon. Speaking of steamy, happy Summer Solstice! Any plans for the longest day of the year tomorrow?

Sunday Evening Pinspiration

All images via Pinterest
Fashionistas, the official first day of summer is this week! New seasons always offer a fresh start, and I'm due for an overhaul. Today was pretty hot and steamy in NYC, so when my sunbathing/magazine reading in the park was cut short by a rain shower, I resorted to an afternoon of Pinterest binging for inspiration. I've been working on a pink-themed photo shoot for work, so my favorite hue has been on the brain (above). Besides my obsession for all-things pink, I dug up new ideas for outfits, d├ęcor and cooking. Check out my favorites below, and lets be friends on Pinterest!
Our apartment is almost finished but still requires a few finishing touches (from left). I'm loving Claire Zinnecker's light, airy space and this perfectly arranged hat wall. My office nook needs a few finishing touches, like a few bookshelves and some greenery. Better Homes and Gardens predicts buffalo plaid is the next big trend in home design—how cute is that chair?
Stripes, stripes, stripes! I'm loving the summer in Paris vibes of these outfits on Margo and Me, Somewhere Devine and The Closet Heroes—so timeless and flattering.
We don't have a grill, but I love anything we can throw on our electric skillet, like corn on the cob or kabobs (the recipe above, left, involves cilantro chimichurri—yum!). I'm also obsessed with my spiralizer, and I'm pretty intrigued that Pinch of Yum doesn't cook the zoodles in this recipe. I know what I'll be whipping up this week!

Tied Up Button Down & Kate Spade x Keds

Head to Toe: Top and bag, thrifted // Jeans, Siwy Denim // Sneakers, Kate Spade x Keds.

Red is not normally my color, but there is something about it that feels like summer. This button-down was (I kid you not) $1 at Austin's Treasure City thrift shop. It's light, versatile and easy to repurpose. Plus, it makes me think about our vacation wandering Texas eating tacos and tasting craft beers.

The other thing making me smile is this gorgeous weather! Sean and I had our first picnic in Central Park today, and it felt amazing to laze about and be in nature. It was just enough of a dose to get me through until next weekend, but I'll definitely be working in some outside lunch breaks. Have a fab week, fashionistas!

Lady In Red: Embroidered Summer Maxi

Head to Toe: Dress, Forever 21 via Buffalo Exchange // Jacket, Thrifted // Bag, Joules // Sandals, Emu

Happy Friday, fashionistas! It's finally feeling like summer so I'm going to keep this post super brief. Why waste anymore time inside? This week flew by, and took a lot of coffee to get through, but we made it! Enjoy the weekend.

Waiting for Summer in Chambray Ruffles

Head to Toe: Blouse, Zara via Buffalo Exchange // Jeans, Old Navy // Shoes, Aerosoles // Bag, Adrienne Vittadini (similar).

Since summer hasn't quite come to stay just yet, I've been living in jeans and fun transitional tops. I love the ruffles on this Zara blouse I grabbed secondhand last week, and these Aerosoles sandals have also been on repeat. I just can't bring myself to put on booties past Memorial Day! They feel clean and classic and are super comfortable, plus, on sale for $60. What are your early-summer go-to's?

Easy Photo DIY under $15

Happy Sunday, fashionistas! Sean and I have been working hard at making our new apartment nice and homey (more pics on that later), and for me, photos are the most important touch. We have frames resting on just about every inch of shelf and counter space, so I love the idea of fitting multiple pictures in one display. With a ton of DIY inspo, Printiki has adorable vintage-inspired print options and cute fonts that you can use for captions and comments. Plus, you can import your pics directly from Instagram or Facebook.

Opting for square prints, I scoured the 'gram for some of my favorite shots and added a few sentiments here and there. Then, I found an old frame for $2 at Housing Works. I used leftover paint from our accent wall to give it new life, then stapled yarn across the back and attached my prints using clothespins. The best part is, it's easy to rotate new pics in and out.

If you want to give this DIY a try or create your own rendition, use the code YSHG33EJ to get free shipping on Printiki. And don't forget to show me the finished product!

An Americana Kickoff to Summer

Head to Toe: Top, jacket, bag & shorts, thrifted // Sneakers, Puma // Shades, Vera Wang

Happy first day of June! I can't believe Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial kickoff to summer, has already come and gone. I mean, it's almost Friday again! Don't you just love short weeks? Sean and I had a pretty low key holiday, but we did get to 79th Street Boat Basin for lunch Sunday, and it was even warm enough to sit outside. Growing up near the beach, I always feel at home close to water, and this spot felt fabulously New England—complete with a basket of fries and corn-on-the-cob. I wanted to go a little patriotic, so I paired these vintage shorts with my trusty jean jacket. My thoughts and thanks to those in the military and their families for your service and sacrifice!
