2017 Year In Review

A post shared by Annie Loynd (@style_me_annie) on
When the year stretches into December and holiday stress piles up on short, cold days, it's easy to crave that fresh start January promises. This past year had its share of personal challenges for me. Career-wise, the publishing industry is going through tough times, and I certainly felt the effects. I pushed through, picked up some side hustles and am starting 2018 is a new position at a thriving luxury magazine.

January certainly delivered on its promise for a fresh start for me, but I don't want to harp on the hiccups of 2017 because there were so many awesome moments. I think it's easy to count down to midnight and wipe away the bad tweets times, but I don't want to be dismissive of all the great things the past year provided. Below, I'm rounding up some of my favorite milestones—and outfits—from 2017, which set me up for a promising year ahead. Happy New Year, fashionistas!
  • Sean and I took our first trip to Europe together, visiting Paris and Milan.
  • I styled a bunch of fun photo shoots, including one with live piglet models. (Life goals, just saying.)
  • Sean proposed and I SAID YES!!
  • We took a week on the beach in Virginia and nailed in our wedding venue.
  • I scored quite a few front row seats at fashion week and got to interview Kristen Cavallari.
  • We had our first Halloween party (something I've been wanting to do for years) and it was a rave success.
  • We spent Thanksgiving in Virginia, enjoyed family time and said yes to the cake!
  • My family traveled to NYC for Christmas, and we hosted our first holiday. Cornish game hens got five stars.
